Continuing EducationWebinarsDysphagia CafeApril 6, 2025

Dysphagia management is a continuously evolving field, and clinicians must constantly refine their skills to provide the best care for patients. Understanding the path to expertise and using competency measures for self-reflection are key to improving clinical practice. This webinar will provide practical strategies to help clinicians enhance their competency in dysphagia management.

The Expertise Continuum in Dysphagia Management

The expertise continuum is a framework that helps clinicians assess their current skills and identify areas for improvement. Whether you’re new to dysphagia management or have years of experience, understanding where you are on this continuum can guide your professional development and help you grow in the field.

What Makes a Dysphagia Expert?

Dysphagia experts stand out because of their advanced clinical skills, deep knowledge of swallowing disorders, and ability to apply evidence-based practices in complex cases. By examining these expert characteristics, clinicians can identify key areas to focus on in their own practice to enhance their skills and confidence in managing dysphagia.

Using Competency Measures to Improve Your Practice

Competency measures help clinicians evaluate their skills and track their progress. By using these tools for self-reflection, clinicians can pinpoint strengths and areas for growth, making it easier to set achievable goals for improvement in dysphagia management.

Creating a Personalized Plan for Growth

Every clinician’s path to expertise is different. This webinar will guide you in creating a personalized plan to improve your dysphagia management skills. Whether through continuing education, hands-on experience, or mentorship, you’ll learn how to design a growth plan that suits your needs and accelerates your development.
