Shaping the Future of Swallowing Care: The 2025 New York City Dysphagia Symposium

Continuing EducationDysphagia CafeAugust 15, 2025

Healthcare is advancing at an unprecedented pace—and nowhere is this more evident than in the field of dysphagia. As new technologies emerge and digital innovation continues to transform clinical practice, speech-language pathologists and dysphagia clinicians are being called to adapt, rethink traditional approaches, and embrace new ways of delivering care. The 2025 New York City Dysphagia Symposium invites you to be part of this evolution.

This two-day, in-person conference brings together internationally recognized experts, thought leaders, and practicing clinicians for a deep dive into the future of dysphagia assessment and treatment. Through lectures, case discussions, and networking, the symposium will explore how innovation intersects with patient-centered care ensuring that advancements never lose sight of the human experience behind swallowing disorders.

Why Attend the NYC Dysphagia Symposium?

The 2025 symposium is designed to support clinicians in all stages of their careers, offering evidence-based strategies that reflect the latest in swallowing science and patient care. While we embrace digital transformation and artificial intelligence in healthcare, this event keeps the focus squarely on how to apply these tools in real-life, compassionate, and effective clinical settings.

Participants will learn how healthcare innovation is:

  • Reshaping the diagnosis and treatment of dysphagia
  • Improving access to care for underserved or remote patient populations
  • Enhancing training opportunities for clinicians through virtual and AI-powered platforms
  • Facilitating greater interdisciplinary collaboration among healthcare professionals

Learning Objectives

Attendees will leave the conference equipped to:

  • Describe the evolving impact of healthcare innovation on swallowing disorder diagnosis and therapy.
  • Identify groundbreaking tools that expand understanding of dysphagia pathophysiology.
  • Evaluate digital platforms that are increasing accessibility and streamlining clinical workflows.
  • Explain how emerging technologies like AI and telehealth are transforming clinician education.
  • Analyze real-world benefits and limitations of integrating high-tech solutions into dysphagia care.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of current digital assessment platforms for swallowing function.
  • Discuss how interdisciplinary teams are adapting to new care models in dysphagia management.
  • Develop personalized strategies for incorporating innovation into clinical practice for better outcomes.

A Continuing Education Experience for the Dysphagia Clinician

The New York City Dysphagia Symposium is more than a conference, it’s an educational experience committed to advancing the science and art of dysphagia care. Whether you treat adults or pediatrics, work in acute care or outpatient rehab, this event will offer practical tools and theoretical frameworks to elevate your practice.

Join us October 17-18 in New York City as we explore how to balance innovation with compassion, technology with humanity, and research with real-world care. Be part of the movement shaping the next era of dysphagia management.
